Abdelmagid SAKR completed his Bachelor’s degree in Italian studies at Faculty of languages (Al alsun), University of Ain Shams, Cairo (Egypt) along with his Diploma of higher studies in Translation studies. He also worked as a teaching assistant there before his Master’s in Linguistics at University of Padua. Currently he is working on his PhD in linguistics at the FICLIT Department, at the University of Bologna.

Amirdhavarshini PADMANABHAN is a doctoral student at University of Bologna, Italy, working on Skeletal tissue engineering and regeneration. She graduated from Biotechechnology from India. before her post-graduation in Biomedical Engineering, from the University of Bourgogne-Franche Comte, France.  Her research interests recently have diversified to working on sustainable development goals and is looking forward to focus on its intricate system on a country-wise level.  

Christos TSERONIS completed his undergraduate studies in the Department of Political Science and Public Administration at the University of Athens, prior to joining the University of Bologna. He subsequently pursued a research master’s degree in comparative politics at the Doctoral School (now School of Research) of Sciences Po Paris as a scholar of John S. Latsis Public Benefit Foundation. Upon enrolment to the doctoral programme of Political and Social Sciences, he was awarded a PhD Fellowship at the Institute of Advanced Studies. In his doctoral thesis he studies digital media and the transformation of party affiliation and activism.

Dora TOT is a 3rd-year PhD student of Global Histories, Cultures and Politics and PhD@ISA fellow at the University of Bologna. In 2018, she completed her Master’s studies in History at the University of Zagreb, defending the thesis “Yugoslavia – Algeria Relations: A Soft Power Strategy“. Before graduating, she was enrolled in the International Relations study programme at the University of Pécs, Hungary, as part of the Erasmus+ exchange programme. At the moment, she is working on her PhD research project Pawns in the Cooperation? Engagement of Yugoslav Technical Cooperation Experts in Algeria (1962 – 1990). Her research interests are focused on the history of non-alignment, East-South relations and Yugoslav labour migration. 

Julia SELIVANOVA is a PhD student in the joint CMCC/UNIBO program “Future Earth, Climate Change and Societal Challenges”. Julia is studying Antarctic sea ice variability using global ocean reanalyses and numerical models. Julia completed her undergraduate and graduate degrees in the Moscow State University, Russia in Hydrometeorology with a specialization in Oceanography and Climatology. 

Masayo WATANABE developed an interest in Graeco-Arabic studies by examining Arabic traditions of Euclid’s Elements (MA 2015, Area Studies, University of Tokyo) after graduating from Waseda University in Japan (BA 2012, Philosophy), and moved to research on Ǧābirian corpus as a PhD student at the University of Tokyo while being a research fellow of Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (2016-2018). In her PhD project in AlchemEast, she is currently working on editing the Book of the Seven Metals which will shed light on new aspects of Ǧābir b. Ḥayyān’s alchemical, philosophical and medical ideas.

Olga TRUNOVA is a PhD candidate at the Department of Management. Before joining the PhD program at the University of Bologna, Olga has pursued her research and academic interests as a lecturer, researcher, translator, and course content creator in academia. Her research interests continue to focus on the promise of collaboration between private and public entities, governance of Smart Cities and sustainable development goals.  

Sidra ASGHAR is a second year PhD student at University of Bologna. She is doing her PhD in Oncology, Hematology and Pathology. She has obtained her Master’s degree in Healthcare Biotechnology from NUST, Pakistan. During her Masters she also worked as a Research Assistant. Currently her PhD project revolves around identification of novel snoRNA biomarkers for early detection of Hepatocellular Carcinoma.

Xin ZHANG is a PhD student in Economics at University of Bologna, Italy. Her research interests are in behavioral and experimental economics. Especially, she’s interested in problems existing in real-world cooperation and bargaining.
